53 days done! It’s been a crazy, busy week. G and I are both doing well. He’s staying busy with school & work, and I’m just staying busy in general. It’s been an incredibly social weekend, and I am pretty exhausted.
Friday night I went to the pool party put on by the apartment complex. It wasn’t quite as fun as last year, but we still had a good time. They had pizza from Donatos, a DJ, lots of beer & sangria. I’ve never won anything at a Radius social event, but this time I won $50 in free food from Donatos. I’ve eaten there more times than I care to admit since I wrapped up my Whole30, so I’m pretty excited about that.
This is potentially the last photo you’ll see of me with brown hair… I have an appointment to get it colored on Friday. It’s been a long time since I’ve had my hair colored, so I’m more than a little nervous… I’m torn between highlights & all over color. I guess we’ll see what happens when I get there.
Saturday night we grilled out pool side, and then moved the party to the dog park. All of our dogs had been cooped up for most of the day, so they definitely needed it. We were down there for nearly two hours, and Hermione didn’t budge for the rest of the night once we came in.
Sunday started with a delicious brunch at Venture. The Blackbeard festival was going on in Hampton, so they were busier than usual. For the first time ever, I had to wait for a table. The scallops & grits were worth the wait though. Their grits are amazing, and these scallops were so good!
Shortly after brunch, I headed to Le Mu. As usual, everything on this weeks menu was delicious, but Sav’s take on s’mores was by far my favorite. This was gingersnaps, jasmine marshmallows & chocolate ganache, all made in-house.
After Le Mu, I headed home and we crammed 4 adults and three very large dogs into G’s car, and headed to Yorktown. It was nice having company on my walk, and it was the most beautiful night imaginable.
Monday is always my day of rest. And I took complete advantage of the fact that everyone else was at work or school. I spent two hours in the pool, reading a new book. It was wonderful.
And the weekend ended with a sushi date with Susan.
How was your weekend?
